Open Source Response to Microsoft's InfoCard

In this article Kim Cameron the chief identity architect at Microsoft talks about the on-coming big bang in identity management.  He states "The Higgins Project looks to be a step forward in solving the problem surrounding online identities", said Kim "From what I've seen, this is a very positive development, I think we are really going to see the identity big bang--a whole wave of social and identity-aware applications that are suddenly becoming possible."  If true Microsoft's InfoCard would be able to interact with other identity systems and would potentially provide a more comphrehensive solution.
